Bursa Technical University (BTU) is taking part in the AgriNanoVET project, conducted under Erasmus+ alongside institutions from Germany, Romania, and Croatia. The project aims to integrate nanotechnology applications into vocational education curricula focused on sustainable agriculture and food production, while enhancing the knowledge and skills of teachers and students in this field.

Bursa Technical University (BTU) has taken its place as an international partner in the project titled "Enhancing Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production: Integrating Nanotechnological Approaches in Vocational High School (AgriNanoVET)," which has been granted support under the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training (KA220-VET). Coordinated by Germany and running for two years, the project will see BTU collaborate with institutions from Germany, Romania, and Croatia. The initiative aims to introduce the use of nanotechnology applications in sustainable agriculture and food production to vocational education curricula, as well as improve the knowledge and skills of educators and students.

Digital Training Platform for Teachers

Under AgriNanoVET, a digital training platform will be created for the use of vocational education teachers. The project will also carry out laboratory studies covering nanoencapsulation applications in the fields of food preservation and nutrient fortification. Additionally, a 14-week elective course curriculum will be prepared to improve students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding nanotechnology and sustainable agriculture, bridging the gap between cutting-edge nanotech applications and vocational education.

Four-Member Project Team from BTU

Representing BTU, Prof. Dr. Furkan Türker Sarıcaoğlu, a faculty member from the Department of Food Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, serves as the project lead. The project team also includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Neslihan Dündar from the Department of Food Engineering, Project Support Office Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Oya Güler, and Lecturer Yasemin Sarıcaoğlu from the Project Support Office.

Rector Çağlar: "We Value Joint Projects with International Partners"

BTU Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar emphasized that projects conducted through the university's international partnerships enhance capacity in both education and research, stating:

"Projects carried out with stakeholders from different countries strengthen knowledge and experience sharing while contributing to our students and academics gaining valuable experience in international working environments. I believe the AgriNanoVET project will deliver significant outcomes in terms of transferring current nanotechnological approaches to vocational education and developing new educational content for sustainable agriculture and food production."
