Selim UZUN

Born in 1980 in the Sürmene district of Trabzon, Selim Uzun completed his primary education in his birthplace before moving with his family to Karamürsel in Kocaeli. He attended Karamürsel Imam Hatip High School, graduating in 1999. In the same year, he was admitted to Istanbul University’s Health Services Vocational School for the Oral and Dental Health program but left shortly after. He then enrolled at Sakarya University in 2001, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2005, graduating as the second in his class. He completed his Master’s degree in Mathematics Education in 2006 and later obtained a second Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Anadolu University in 2020. Currently, he is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Law at Sakarya University and a Master’s degree with thesis in Business Administration at Bursa Technical University.

Selim Uzun began his teaching career in private educational institutions in 2003 before transitioning to the public sector in 2008, where he continued to teach in Hizan, Bitlis. From 2010 to 2019, he worked as a Mathematics teacher in various schools and private institutions in Sakarya. Between 2019 and 2023, he served as the Head of the Personnel Department at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. Since January 2023, he has been serving as the Secretary General of Bursa Technical University.

In addition to his professional work, Selim Uzun has been actively involved in numerous non-governmental organizations since high school, focusing particularly on youth-related initiatives. He is married and a father of two sons.
