Objectives of Psychological Counseling and Guidance
The objectives of our Psychological Counseling and Guidance unit are to help individuals develop positive social skills and establish strong interpersonal relationships, assist in self-discovery by understanding their talents, interests, and skills, and provide problem-solving support to overcome emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and social challenges.
How to Know When You Need Psychological Help?

How to Apply to The Psychological Counseling & Guidance Unit?
► The service offered in the unit is free of charge.
► Appointments can be made in-person, via e-mail or phone call. On the date of the appointment, the consultant makes a preliminary interview for drawing a roadmap and plans the next appointments.
► The counselee attends the meeting at the unit on the day and time of the appointment, and informs the unit at least 24 hours in advance in cases where he or she will not come. Interviews last around 40-50 minutes.
► The unit is located on the ground floor of Mimar Sinan Campus, Block B (Student Center), room Z-19.
► The unit operates between 08:00 and 17:00 on weekdays
► Working days: It serves every day of the week
Important Information About Psychological Counseling
- Psychologists do not prescribe medication. If necessary, they will refer you to a psychiatrist for further evaluation and treatment.
- The names and information of those who come to the unit are kept confidential. It is never written in the files of the personnel or the transcripts of the students.
- Change is not an easy process. Depending on the situation, negotiations may continue for a long time.
- People who receive psychological counseling services don't need to have deep problems. You can seek guidance for any aspect of your life where you need support.
