Clarification Text on the  
Processing of Personal Data  

1. Introduction 

 General and private personal data belonging to students, employees, visitors and related persons are collected, processed, transferred and stored by Bursa Technical University Rectorate (“University”) in the capacity of data controller, pursuant to and in accordance with the Law on Protection of Personal Data. 

 

2. Purpose of Processing Personal Data 

 According to the relationship between our university and individuals, personal data is collected and processed by our staff or authorized persons, automatically or non-automatically, verbally, in writing or electronically, in accordance with the duties and authorization purposes and activities of our university. In this context;

2.1. Personal data about students are collected and processed for the continuation of education and related activities, measurement, evaluation and success follow-up, and records that must be kept as per the law.

2.2. Personal data about the employees are collected and processed for the purposes and activities of our University.

2.3. The personal data collected and processed continues to be collected and processed for the follow-up and communication of graduates and personnel, even after the end of their relationship with our University.

2.4. Personal data is collected and processed for vital and medical needs of all persons in our university campuses.

2.5. Personal data is collected and processed for safety and security about all persons in our university campuses.

2.6. Personal data about participants of all kinds of events, courses, development programs, exhibitions, conferences, panels, workshops and similar meetings are processed.

2.7. All kinds of personal data can be collected and processed in order to be used in all kinds of duties and authorization purposes and activities of our university, in accordance with the legislation or with the express consent of the related persons.

 

3. Method of Collection and Processing of Personal Data

 Personal data is collected and processed by our personnel or authorized persons directly, indirectly or electronically, by automatic or non-automatic means, verbally, in writing or electronically, before, during or after relationships, in various ways and methods in accordance with KVKK.

 

4. Transfer of Personal Data

 Our university may transfer personal data collected and processed from related persons for the following purposes.

4.1. In order to benefit from the activities of our university and to continue the activities, personal data can be transferred to the related institutions and individuals.

4.2. Personal data can be transferred in accordance with the purpose and duration of the contract within the framework of the contracts concluded with the persons associated with our university.

4.3. Within the scope of all kinds of activities within the framework of our university's quality and strategic goals and plans, personal data can be transferred as and when necessary.

 

5. Rights of Personal Data Owner

If personal data owners submit their requests regarding their rights to our University through the methods described below, their request will be finalized within thirty days at the latest and free of charge, depending on the nature of the request.

5.1. If a fee is determined by the Personal Data Protection Authority, the fee determined for the requests will be applied.

5.2. Personal data owners, according to the relevant provision of the KVKK;

Learning whether personal data is processed or not, If personal data has been processed, requesting information about it,

If personal data has been processed, requesting information about it,

Learning the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used in accordance with the purpose,

Knowing the third parties to whom personal data is transferred nationally or internationally,

Requesting correction of personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing and requesting notification of the transaction made within this scope to the third parties to whom the personal data has been transferred,

Requesting the deletion or destruction of personal data in the event that the reasons requiring processing disappear, despite the fact that the personal data has been processed in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data and other legislation, and requesting the notification of the transaction made within this scope to the third parties to whom the personal data has been transferred,

Objecting to the emergence of a result against the person himself by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems.

In the event that personal data is damaged due to unlawful processing, they have the right to demand the compensation of the damage.

5.3. Individuals can submit their requests regarding the exercise of their rights under the law to our University in writing or through the methods determined by the Personal Data Protection Authority.

5.4. In order for individuals to exercise their rights specified in the KVKK, a signed and written request, including the explanations about which right they want to benefit from, explaining their identity and physical and electronic contact information, is sent to "Bursa Technical University Rectorate – Mimar Sinan Mah. Architect Sinan Bul. 177 Yıldırım / sBURSA" in person, through KEP, notary public or through the methods described in the KVKK.
