Prof. Dr. Beyhan BAYHAN

Prof. Dr. Beyhan Bayhan holds a Doctorate from Middle East Technical University, a Master’s degree from Istanbul Technical University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Gazi University. In 2008-2009, he worked as a researcher at the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering in Taiwan.


At Bursa Technical University, Bayhan became an Assistant Professor in 2012, an Associate Professor in 2014, and a Professor in 2020. He is a founding faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Earthquake Engineering Application and Research Center (DEPAR) at Bursa Technical University. Since joining the university in 2012, he has held various positions, including Deputy Director of the Institute of Science, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Director of BTÜ-DEPAR, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, and has served on the BAP Commission, Quality Commission, and as a student advisor.


Prof. Dr. Beyhan Bayhan’s research interests and areas of expertise include structural and earthquake engineering, identification of risky structures, assessment of earthquake performance of buildings, repair and strengthening of structures, and seismic isolation of buildings.

Prof. Dr. Beyhan Bayhan is married and has two children.




Prof. Dr. Sinan UYANIK

Born in 1972 in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri, Prof. Dr. Sinan UYANIK completed his undergraduate education in the Environmental Engineering Department at Dokuz Eylül University in 1994. As a scholarship holder under Law No. 1416, he pursued his Master’s and Doctorate degrees at Newcastle University in England from 1995 to 2001. In 2002, he began his compulsory service at Harran University’s Environmental Engineering Department. In 2006, he undertook a six-month postdoctoral education at Cornell University’s Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering with a TÜBİTAK scholarship.


Prof. Dr. Sinan UYANIK received the title of Assistant Professor in 2002, Associate Professor in 2006, and Professor in 2011. At Harran University, he served as the Head of the Environmental Engineering Department, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Director of the Continuing Education Center, Provincial Coordinator for ÖSYM, Senate Member, University Executive Board Member, and Director of the Institute of Science.


Since 2020, he has been working in the Environmental Engineering Department at Bursa Technical University. In 2021, he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, where he has conducted significant research on the mucilage problem in the Marmara Sea.


His research interests and areas of expertise include the treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater, water quality control, wastewater reuse, marine pollution and control, river basin management plans, and the EU Water Framework Directive. Prof. Dr. Sinan UYANIK has published numerous national and international academic articles in his field and has participated as a researcher and project manager in many scientific projects that have influenced both industry and academia. His H-index is 16.

Prof. Dr. Sinan UYANIK is married and has one child.




Prof. Dr. Barış Tamer TONGUÇ

Born in Eskişehir in 1973, Prof. Dr. Barış Tamer Tonguç completed his undergraduate education in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science and Letters at Anadolu University in 1993. Following this, he received a scholarship from the Turkish Ministry of National Education under Law No. 1416 and pursued his Master’s and Doctoral studies at Syracuse University in New York, USA, from 1996 to 2003.


Awarded a scholarship for postgraduate studies abroad, he began his education at Syracuse University. He completed his Master’s degree in 1998 and his Doctorate in 2003, specializing in experimental particle physics. Between 1998 and 2002, he worked as a research assistant at the same university. After completing his doctorate, he spent 18 months as a postdoctoral researcher in the Physics Department at Arizona State University, participating in research at the BATES accelerator center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as part of a collaborative research team.


Upon returning to Turkey, Tonguç started his position as Assistant Professor in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science and Letters at Sakarya University in 2005. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2009 and Professor in 2014. At Sakarya University, he had roles including Deputy Head of the Department, Deputy Director of the Institute, and Vice Rector. He is also a member of the TENMAK Advisory Board and the Turkish Physics Association.


His research interests and areas of expertise include exotic quarks, muon detection, the internal structure of protons, and gamma radiation-matter interactions.

Prof. Dr. Barış Tamer Tonguç is married and has one daughter and two sons.
