The opening event of a national project aimed at integrating 21st-century skills into foreign language teaching through technology-supported lesson planning approaches was held at Bursa Technical University (BTÜ). The full-day programme brought together instructors working at Schools of Foreign Languages from universities across Türkiye.
Bursa Technical University hosted the opening event of the national project entitled “Tech Supported Lesson Planning and 21st Century Core Skills”, which is supported by the British Council. The event took place at the Ali Sürmen Hall on the Mimar Sinan Campus. The programme began with an opening address by Dr Caner Gürel, Director of the BTÜ School of Foreign Languages, followed by project presentations and opening remarks delivered by members of the INGED Executive Board. Following the keynote session by Associate Professor Dr Sedat Akayoğlu, participants attended parallel sessions in which project members shared practice-oriented applications.
The project is led by INGED (the English Language Teachers Association), one of Türkiye’s leading professional civil society organisations, and includes Elif Atalı, Instructor at the BTÜ School of Foreign Languages, as a member of the executive board and project leader. The project was awarded funding under the British Council grant programme. With a total duration of nine months, the project aims to support the professional development of instructors working at Schools of Foreign Languages across Türkiye. Its primary focus is the integration of technology-supported lesson planning approaches and 21st-century core skills into teaching and learning processes.
