Bursa Technical University has achieved an important success with its "Digital Language Lab" project under the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH Program and has earned the right to receive a 250,000 Euro grant from the Turkish National Agency. The "Digital Language Lab (DLL)" project, coordinated by BTÜ, will last for a total of 30 months and involves partner institutions from Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, and Türkiye. The project focuses on developing educational materials and tools to help teachers become more effective in the digital world. The project team includes Instructor Özlem Cengiz, Instructor Elif Atalı from BTÜ School of Foreign Languages, and Instructor Ali Kılıç from the International Relations Office.
Digitalization in Language Education
The "Digital Language Lab (DLL)" project aims to enhance teachers' digital knowledge and skills, enabling them to use modern tools in language education. As part of the project, a joint curriculum for A1-B2 level language teaching, in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), will be prepared. Following this, a digital platform will be developed to offer teachers language activities supported by Web 2.0 tools and training content for using these activities in the classroom.
A Digital Platform Will Be Established
Along with the project, a digital platform specifically designed for teachers will be set up. This platform will offer language teaching activities with digital tools for teachers, as well as access to educational materials and professional development opportunities. Through collaboration meetings and the sharing of good practice examples among partners during the project, the goal is to enhance the quality of the project outputs.
Rector Çağlar: We Attach Great Importance to International Projects
Congratulating the instructors who received support for their projects, BTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar emphasized the importance of international projects. He stated that Bursa Technical University places great importance on internationalization efforts to become more visible on the global stage. Rector Çağlar said, "While our collaboration discussions continue with many universities and institutions around the world, we are still meeting in joint projects and signing protocols with different countries. Last month, at the EAIE International Education Conference and Fair held in France, we signed many collaborations. Our academics are also promoting BTÜ’s name around the world through international projects such as Erasmus. Our current goal for internationalization is to become a member of the European Universities Association."
