Prof. Dr. Naci ÇAĞLAR

Naci Çağlar, born in 1968 in Bakırköy İstanbul, completed his undergraduate education in Istanbul Technical University Sakarya Engineering Faculty Civil Engineering Department in 1993. He completed his Master’s degree in Sakarya University Institute of Science Civil Engineering Department in 1995 and his doctorate in Sakarya University Graduate School of Sciences Civil Engineering Department in 2002.

Naci Çağlar started as a research assistant at Sakarya University, Faculty of Engineering in 1993 and served as Assistant Professor between 2002-2011 and as Associate Professor between 2011-2016 in the same department. He received the title of Professor in 2016.

Prof. Dr. Naci ÇAĞLAR was a visiting professor at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology in Macedonia in 1998, at Aberdeen University in England in 2003 and 2011, and at Ohio State University in the USA in 2015-2016. He served as a member of the Ethics committee in the Board of Higher Education (YÖK) Inter-university council (UAK), ÖSYM Sakarya Provincal Coordinator, the director of the Science Institute, a member of SAU Senate, as Board Member of SAU, as Board Member of Sakarya Teknokent, as Department Head, the head of Sakarya University Alumni Association, and as an advisor to the Sakarya mayor. Furthermore, between 2019 and 2022, he served as a vice rector of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Naci ÇAĞLAR works in the fields of Reinforced Concrete Buildings, Earthquake, Structural Mechanics, Earthquake Resistant Structure Design, Earthquake Performance of Existing Reinforced Concrete Buildings, Finite Elements, Artificial Neural Networks. He has published many national and international academic articles, and taken part in many scientific projects as a researcher and coordinator.

Prof. Dr. Naci ÇAĞLAR is married with four children and a grandchild.

Vice Rector

Prof. Dr. Beyhan BAYHAN

Prof. Dr. Beyhan Bayhan holds a PhD from Middle East Technical University, a Master's degree from Istanbul Technical University, and a Bachelor's degree from Gazi University. Bayhan worked as a researcher at the University of California Berkeley Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center and Taiwan National Earthquake Research Center between 2008 and 2009.

Bayhan received the title of assistant professor in 2012, associate professor in 2014 and professor in 2020 at Bursa Technical University. Bayhan is a founding faculty member at Bursa Technical University, Department of Civil Engineering and Earthquake Engineering Application and Research Center (DEPAR). At Bursa Technical University, where he started to work in 2012, he served as Deputy Director of the Institute of Science, Department of Civil Engineering, Director of BTU-DEPAR, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Member of the BAP Commission, Member of the Quality Commission and Community Consultant.

Areas of interest and work; structural and earthquake engineering, risky structure detection, evaluation of earthquake performance of structures, repair and strengthening of structures and seismic insulation of buildings.
